LA Times: Adult Education is Immigrant Rights Issue & Symbol of American Greatness

L.A. Times veteran journalist Hector Tobar speaks out about how Adult Education gave his family the opportunity for upward mobility:  his father came from Guatemala 50 years ago with a 6th grade education and enrolled as an Adult Education student at Hollywood Community Adult School:

“Losing adult schools wouldn’t be a loss just for me, or for immigrants and their families. It would be a loss for all of us, a subtraction from what our country stands for and a loud statement that we are no longer as great and good as we pretend to be.”
