  1. For all the praise Fletcher heaped on the struggle of Adult Ed students and teachers (at last Friday’s Adult Ed UTLA meeting) as being decisive in the negotiations, curious that he made ZERO mention of Adult Ed (correct me if I’m wrong… I watched all three segments and took notes) the whole time. The only passing mention was by Deasy, the privatizing weasel. Fletcher correctly stated that the starvation diet LAUSD has been on for the past several years is due to policymakers’ decisions. And he said that the public understands better than these lawmakers that education is essential. So why isn’t he and his union mobilizing the public to fight back for this human right? No, I mean really mobilizing… instead of coming to us with more cuts to “salvage” programs that could, and should be thriving–if the community is organized to stand up and fight. Short of that, what good is the union? What have they taken our money for?

  2. in Clip 2 (around minute 4:00)
    Warren Fletcher references Adult Education:
“Californians understand that the future of California is built on Public Education, primarily K-12 education, but also Higher Ed, and definitely also Adult Ed, etc.”
