Last week, shortly after LAUSD posted online a list of 186 Career & Technical Education (CTE) employee numbers of those being re-employed, the numbers were then pulled from the LAUSD website.
The final list of employee numbers needs to be published as soon as possible, and the District needs to issue an apology.
LAUSD has not offered any explanation for why this happened, however, it is outrageous for the District to play with people’s emotions by saying that they will be re-employed, only to cause confusion and concern by removing the numbers the next day.
Initially, the LAUSD website stated, on July 11:
“In the near future, an additional 177 rehires in the ROP programs will be also listed on this site.”
Subsequently, by July 12, and as of publishing this article, it now says:
“In the near future, an additional 177 rehires for ROP and CTE programs will be also listed on this site.”
The Adult Ed Committee of UTLA has stated it expects LAUSD to re-post CTE numbers again later this week, by Friday July 20, “along with additional adult ed employee numbers”.
It is unknown what LAUSD has to gain by this game of Yo-Yo that has, for obvious reasons, been the source of an emotional roller coaster for many, on the heels of a year already full of extremes.
Fortunately, at SaveAdultEd.org we were able to get screenshots of the numbers before they were pulled, so if there are any discrepancies between the initial CTE list and any subsequent lists it will be obvious.
In our previous post, clicking on the screenshot took you directly to the LAUSD website. This time, if you click on the image below, you will see an enlarged image, making it easier to read the numbers:
